DESCRIPTION

This 1974 Dino was delivered new to South Africa on the 22nd of January, 1974, one of a very few Left Hand Drive Euro-spec ‘Chairs and Flares’ Dino GTS models.

This car comes with a Ferrari Classiche Certificate authenticating its original matching factory interior and exterior colors and matching engine, gearbox, chassis and body numbers throughout.

As a Dino with the rare Campagnolo ‘Electron’ wheels sitting in ‘Flared’ wheel arches and with the Daytona seats in black leather, this car is among a handful of Euro-spec LHD ‘Chairs and Flares’ Dinos.

Being a Euro-spec version, this car has no EPA constrictions on the motor and no DOT mandates on the lighting and thus retains the pure Pinifarina design aesthetic and the full power and torque of the 195hp 2.4L V-6 engine without the reduced power and torque output of the EPA smogged US market cars.

The car underwent a complete bare metal, engine out restoration in 2017-18.

Many unique parts are included on this car:

  • 7.5 inch Campagnolo ‘Electron’ Mag Wheels

  • Flared Wheel Arches

  • Daytona Seat Inserts

  • Targa Top GTS Model

  • Euro-spec without any constricting EPA Engine Mods

  • Pure Pinifarina design aesthetic without DOT front, side and rear marker lights

  • 1 of 20 Euro-spec LHD 'Chairs and Flares' Models Ever Made

Restoration on this car was carried out by a highly regarded Ferrari Restoration Facility in 2017 and a complete engine rebuild was performed in 2018.

Additional services were carried out in 2019, 2020 and 2023.

A compression test was performed in May 2023 showing this engine to have book-spec compression with no variance between cylinders.

This car has lived in a dry semi desert environment it’s whole life and carries no rust or tarnish.

This car starts easily and runs perfectly, and the overall condition is Concours level.

Not many LHD Euro-spec ‘Chairs and Flares’ Dinos were ever offered and if you want a truly unique and rare Dino then this car is not to be passed up.
