The car received a new engine in 2019 at the hands of Kessler Engineering, a shop specializing in Spec Miatas.  The most recent dyno numbers are 167 hp at 6,500 rpm with 155 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 rpm.  The car was outfitted with numerous race-ready upgrades at this time, including installation of an MSPNP2 ECU, upgraded cooling system, upgraded Deatsch fuel injection system, and an ACT clutch kit—to name a few.  

Key features of this Spec Miata include a fully SCCA/NASA compliant roll cage for driver safety, upgraded suspension with adjustable coilovers to handle the rigors of the track, and OEM Sport brakes with Hawk pads and stainless steel brake lines for exceptional stopping power.
